Sina Leasuasu is an indigenous multidisciplinary artist from Aotearoa, New Zealand (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whātua, Samoan)
Her work is an exploration of identity and mental health, utlising her passion for zine making, textiles, and collage. Coming from a background in performance and film making, Sina is always seeking ways to combine mediums together in a way that speaks to her lived experience as a mixed heritage person and as an artist of colour. Her latest ongoing body of work ‘Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones, But Words Will Stay Forever’ highly reflects this way of working. Sina hopes to continue this series as her artistic identity develops.
She is currently residing in South East London where she works as a project manager for Mandinga Arts.
